Do you think in 1979 when founder, Ken Grossman, opened his small brewery in Chico, he anticipated being a leader in the evolution of the American beer movement? These guys  paved the way for thousands of America's craft brewers, with techniques such as the use of fresh hops (aka wet hops) and using homegrown barley and hops. Estate Ale is a California-grown beverage that is totally on par with all of Sierra Nevada's offerings.. Well balanced, totally citrusy, and bright hop profile.

It's no surprise Sierra Nevada was awarded a USDA Organic Certification for this beer, following suit to their always progressing sustainability efforts.

As you can see, this pours a delicious, creamy head that lasted throughout most of the pint. The brewers choice for the wax dipped bottle is a welcomed element, in my opinion, to an already aesthetically pleasing design that makes this homegrown ale feel special.  Overall, another mighty fine brew from one of my favorite brewers!
