Last night we gathered at Mohawk House to celebrate the fourth anniversary of Boaks Beer. The place was dressed up with some very classy media celebrating the occasion, and the Boaks Beer selection was prominent on the menu. The trio of tasty food, great live music, and fresh New Jersey beer made for an amazing evening.

This past Sunday was a great opportunity for beer drinkers. For most of America, the day entailed drinking fizzy yellow beer and watching huge men crash into each other. Having little to no interest in football, I decided to make the trip from OC to San Marcos to visit Stone Brewery. Stone celebrated the occasion with a festival of their own: Stone Winter Storm. By bringing out some of the rarest beers in their collection, Stone rewarded their fans who love beer more than football.
Last night I attended a wonderful beer dinner at Morris Tap & Grill, with featured brewery Carton Brewing out of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Carton is one of the newer breweries on the block and are gaining a quite a huge following, being tapped at bars all over New Jersey. We are really excited that so many new breweries like Carton are popping up all over the state, putting New Jersey back on the map as the beer capitol it once was - and having places like Morris Tap & Grill to serve these fresh local brews. Last night's dinner was one of many the restaurant will be hosting over the next year with Executive Chef Eric LeVine preparing amazing dishes to pair up with some of the best brews around. After taking a look at what Eric had in store for the Carton portfolio, my mouth was watering. I couldn't wait to dive into some of his food and some fresh pints of Carton.
Mohawk House hosted the third and final launch party last night for Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey's arrival in New Jersey. Beer drinkers flooded the bar, eager to try some of the best brews from the West Coast and chat it up with one of the biggest names in the craft beer industry - Tomme Arthur.
