AGAINST THE GRAIN BAY AND PEPPER YOUR BRETTS

Against The Grain - Bay and Pepper Your Bretts

Good old Kentucky. A state well known for it’s bourbon making, now has a hand full of great craft breweries. One of those breweries is Against The Grain, and their name says it all. Making out of the box brews like a Gose with; cilantro, lime, and roasted red pepper, it is safe to say that they are not making beers to style, and are trying out many ingredients that are not normally found in beer.

Bay And Pepper Your Bretts, is a farm house style saison, brewed in collaboration with one of the Louisville’s most celebrated chefs, Josh Lehman from Holy Grale. Combining things from the kitchen as well as the brewery, the beer was made with turkish bay leaves, ground tellicherry black peppercorns, and fermented on brett.

This beer was awesome and definitely one of the most interesting Saison’s I have ever tried. If you have never tried their beer, I suggest you get on the forums and get a trade going. If you are living in Kentucky, and are reading this, we would love to trade with you too. Cheers to the gang at Against The Grain and Holy Grale. This beer was awesome and we look forward to trying some more, including an old ale that goes by the name Brettish Bulldog.
