STIBINGER BROTHERS PEOPLES CHOICE II

Stibinger Brothers Beer is becoming a major entity in the craft beer scene here in New Jersey. Although they haven’t begun production, they are still researching, sampling, and marketing to find out what consumer are looking for in a beer product. We have been following the Stibinger Brothers for quite some time. It’s great to see how far they have come from the bottle of home brew I had almost two years ago.

While looking at a location in nearby Sussex County for their brewery, the Stibinger Brothers decided to have their latest People’s Choice event at Mohawk House in Sparta. It is one of the best spots for craft beer in North Jersey and to have an event like this here is extraordinary.

The other tastings were a great success, but having been to every one of them I would say this was the biggest and most influential given the location wherein it was held. With 75+ people in attendance, Gabor and Adam were able to share their brews with loyalists and newcomers alike.

This was the People’s Choice – two different versions of their Black IPA were brewed with different hops to see what pleased the consumer’s palate.

To go with the Black IPA, Ken Salmon (Mohawk House Executive Chef) made pulled pork sandwiches, all made with elements of the beer. The bread came from good friend Eric Talhey from Pan Liberte, while the pork was braised overnight in the Black IPA. A nice bit of food to pair with the fresh beer that was flowing.

Aside from the beer infused pulled pork sandwiches there were some fresh baked pretzels floating around the room as well.

With every tasting comes the oh so important research. A questionnaire is given out to everyone to really understand what the beer drinkers prefer.

Black IPA was not the only brew on the menu. White Ale and Red Ale were also flowing; sadly the Red was kicked before my arrival but I guess that’s a good thing.

This was such a fun event. Even though I said it above I will say it again – It’s really great to see the progression of these once home brewers. When they finally go live it will be a must try brew for the area. I present to you Stibinger Brothers beer: Karl Weiss, Adam Stibinger, Gabor Stibinger, and Charlie Borinsky.
