SCHLAFLY AMERICAN IPA

Schlafly American IPA
It’s been over a month since we touched on a beer from the midwest, and what better way to get back in gear than with an awesome brew all the way from “The Show Me State.” If you didn’t pay attention in grade school, I am talking about the great state of Missouri, home to over 50 breweries (from the big guys like Anheiser Busch to awesome craft breweries such as Schlafly.) While we’re not really interested in the AB products so much, supporting folks like Schlafly is something we can get behind.

Schlafly American IPA 2
Not having had much of Schlafly’s beer previously, I was eager to try their Special Release for the season: American IPA. This is a full bodied IPA brewed with Amarillo, Centennial, and Simcoe hops that work together to give you a slight bitterness and pungent notes of citrus and fresh fruit. Finishing clean and easy to drink, I can honestly say this is one of the best IPA’s I have ever had. Not only is it a tasty beer but the packaging is awesome too – it’s simple, clean, and has a great message from Benjamin Franklin. Although Schlafly brews haven’t been something that I have purchased in great numbers, I am excited to try some of their other year-round and seasonal brews.
