Last Thursday Adam and I hit up our local watering hole for a night with Sixpoint Craft Ales. I am a big fan of Sixpoint and could hardly wait to meet the rep and chat about the best canned beer in the east.
Sixpoint brought out some usual suspects but also some limited releases and a one off brew that was to die for. We started out with the Spice of Life #1 - Chinook. Spice of Life is a single hop series Sixpoint will be releasing in kegs.
The crew at Sixpoint made up a pretty sweet "brewing schedule" sheet explaining the Spice of Life series which includes some tasting notes and a brief education on hops.
As mentioned, the usual suspects were available including a fresh keg of  one of my favorite offerings, Righteous Ale - Sixpoint's complex, but session able 7.2% ABV rye brew.
Sixpoint's regional sales rep, Dan Bisogno, talks beer with Gabor of Stibinger Brothers Brewing. Dan does a solid job representing all aspects of Sixpoint, as he's very knowledgeable and an all around stand up guy. He informed us about some of Sixpoint's current undertakings, including the Spice of Life series, The Mad Scientist experimental brew series, as well as their recent release of flagship beers packaged in 16oz  "Nano kegs" (aka. cans). After six years of being a draft only operation, these cans are a welcome addition, allowing their fine brews to be enjoyed pretty much anywhere. Be sure to keep an eye out for them at your neighborhood's better beer store!
Sixpoint's motto, "Beer is culture", recognizes the fact that beer has helped shape civilization since the beginning of time and continues to do so currently. Dawning out of an 800 Sq ft. garage in Red Hook, Brooklyn - Sixpoint continues to mold their growing brand, crafting inspiring brews and paying homage to the age-old craft of brewing.
