Port Brewing And The Lost Abbey Kick Off At Mohawk House
Mohawk House hosted the third and final launch party last night for Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey's arrival in New Jersey. Beer drinkers flooded the bar, eager to try some of the best brews from the West Coast and chat it up with one of the biggest names in the craft beer industry - Tomme Arthur. Ten beers were featured for the evening; five first-class brews supplied by each of the brands. I had been waiting for weeks to taste some of the other brews such as Mongo IPA, Serpent's Stout, and the New Jersey-exclusive F.N.G.
The beers of the evening make their debut.
I had to start with the F.N.G. Brewed specifically for New Jersey, it is a four percent pale ale and quite possibly the best session beer I have had to date.  Also pictured is Shark Attack, a red ale weighing in at nine percent and chock full of flavor.
It was cool to see the flip flop and cross alternate positions down the tap line.
The night's entertainment was provided by Terri and Rob (aka Hambro). They are always a blast, playing a wide array of music and open to requests. Thanks for playing Folsom Prison guys!
Serpent's Stout is a must for any stout lover.
Tomme Arthur was not the only person of note on hand. Matt Wells (Brand Manager) and Ryan Tillotson (Multimedia Supervisor) were also on hand to talk with avid beer drinkers. Ryan was even filming the event, telling me he was going to cut a video from their journey to the Garden State. We will be sure to post it when it goes up. Pleasure meeting you guys.
It's always good to have a few snacks when knocking back beers.
A fan favorite of the evening seemed to be the pleasant Abbey Dubbel, Lost and Found.
What an awesome night! Good beer, good music, great food and probably the biggest brewery event Mohawk House has seen yet. It's amazing how well Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey are being received in NJ; I have never seen so many people excited over a brewery. It was a pleasure meeting Tomme, Matt and Ryan. They are very enthusiastic to have their beers in NJ. Matt said they were stunned to see their beer sell so fast in one market. Thanks to Steve for throwing an awesome event, Mohawk House will be pouring up Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey throughout the weeks to come. Make sure you stop by to try some of the most popular brews to hit New Jersey.
