Sierra Nevada came to Mohawk House a few weeks ago to share some of their finest brews. Local Sierra Nevada rep, Chip Kurth, was on hand to meet and greet with avid beer drinkers and  talk up one of America's premier craft breweries. The draft list featured fresh kegs of their Autumn seasonal - Tumbler, Ovila - Saison & Dubbel, Dogfish Head collaboration brew - Life & Limb, as well as, oak aged Bigfoot, and their staple, Pale Ale.
I started off with a Bigfoot - pay no mind the obvious Tumbler logo. It has to be one of my favorite beers from Chico, an amazing barley wine packed with sweet malt flavor and hoppy bitterness. Bigfoot's a brew thats known to age well, I usually stash one away in my cellar every year.
I was particularly fond of the Life and Limb tap handle.
For those that don't know -  Life and Limb is a collaboration beer between craft beer Pioneers Sierra Nevada and East Coast's Off-Centered Dogfish Head - A 10% strong ale brewed with maple syrup from Sam Calagione's family farm in Massachusetts, fermented with a blend of both brewery's yeast strains, and carbonated with fresh birch syrup. A very unique beer we've enjoyed in the past at IDGB.
Another brewery night at the Mohawk House in the books... An evening full of Chico's finest brews. Stay tuned for more from Sierra Nevada on I Drink Good Beer as we get into the winter season with upcoming Celebration Ale and all its fresh hop glory!
