REVOLUTION BREWING COMPANY

Revolution Brewing 1
There is a lot of great beer coming out of Chicago these days. We have highlighted Daisy Cutter from Half Acre, as well as Side Kick from Two Brothers. One Chi-town brewery in particular has really warmed a spot in my heart with three special beers. That brewery is Revolution, and as you can see from the picture above we got quite the variety of cans from them which left a lasting impression on the palate.

I would first like to point out the artwork – undeniably awesome. Every can has the Revolution signature fist in coloes which reflect the brew within.

The first one that we tried was Rosa.  A very sessionable ale loaded with hibiscus flower and orange peel to give the beer a nice tart, sweet flavor. Very refreshing for a summer day but I could only put one back per session.

Revolution Brewing 6

We have to have some Anti-Heroes in this world and Revolution brews this canned warrior year round. Having slugged Two Brothers Outlaw and a slew of Goose Island IPA, I would have to say that Anti-Hero is one of the better IPA’s I have had out of Chicago lately. If you know something else that is better please do share.

My favorite out of all three was the Eugene Porter. Keeping with the theme of Revolution, this beer was named after Eugene V. Debs (who led the Pullman Rail strike in 1894). I think he would happy that people are learning about him through a fine can of craft beer.

At least Chicago beer drinkers have something to look forward to this day and age now that Goose Island has sold themselves up the river. Breweries like Revolution are taking over their share of the local market and getting the brand out there in eye catching cans.
