TRANSMITTER F7 SOUR FARMHOUSE ALE

TRANSMITTER F7 BLOG

MAKER: Transmitter Brewing Company – Long Island City, New York
STYLE: Farmhouse Ale
ABV: 7%

NOTES: Another fantastic beer from one of my favorite beer makers. Transmitter made this beer in August of 2014 and if you have been sitting on it like I have, you will be well rewarded once you crack it open. This particular batch was sour mashed for several days and fermented with a single strain of Brettanomyces. These methods contribute to the sour and funky flavors Rob and Anthony sought to create with this beer. Sure brett gives off some acidity but it is with the help of those souring bacteria’s that really make the beer shine. I was quite sad when I finished my glass. The beer was tasty, refreshing and I almost wish I sat on for a little longer. I can’t fret though as my friends at Transmitter have told me that a new F-7 on the horizon and it’s sure to be as good as the last. Cheers!
