ADAM’S BEER GARDEN

Hidden off the beaten path – yet next to one of the busiest interstates in the country – lies a hidden secret where the beer flows and the music plays on. Adam’s Beer Garden In Rockaway, New Jersey, has been serving up brews for a while and boasts quite the selection of craft beer within its twenty six draft lines. With help from the local distributors, Adam’s has kept the likes of Yards, Long Trail, Smuttynose, and Flying Dog flowing. Continue reading “ADAM’S BEER GARDEN”

TWIN LIGHT TAP HOUSE

Other than our trip to Carton Brewing, I can honestly say I have never been to the Sandy Hook area of the Jersey Shore. I feel like I have been missing out. Sandy Hook and the Highlands share an awesome culture with lots of local historical attractions and fine cuisine. Once a haven for bootleggers during Prohibition, the region is now littered with an array of bar choices from swank seafood restaurants to your good old local watering hole. There is one place, however, that stands out from the others – and that place is Twin Light Tap House. Opened in May of 2010, owner Mark Danziesen has been introducing beer drinkers of the area to the craft beer industry, offering draft and bottle selections from America’s finest breweries. THE STIRLING HOTEL

Yesterday Steve and I journeyed to one of New Jersey’s finest craft beer destinations – the Stirling Hotel. Located in Long Hill, the former town inn has been home to this family style tavern since the early eighties, offering great food and drink along with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.  Beer geeks, restaurant management, and local brewers alike have been talking this place up; needless to say we were eager to take this trip to a historical jersey monument to grab a bite and check out their awesome beer selection. KANE BREWING COMPANY

It seems that every bar you go to these days has at least one or two craft brews available. I for one am noticing the growing craft beer trend here in New Jersey, ranging from the sprawl of the urban cities to hills of Sussex, and with this I am seeing an increasing demand for fresh local beers. We have had a few new breweries pop up this year in the Garden State and I hear there are a few more on the way. Kane Brewing Company is one of more recent additions to the fold (having opened their doors this past summer) yet are rapidly gaining a sizable fan base amongst the craft beer drinkers of Jersey. Michael Kane had us out for the day to sample some brews and show us one of New Jersey’s newest breweries. Continue reading “KANE BREWING COMPANY”
