NICOLES TEN

After the last few years, I believed we had the local bar scene covered backwards and forwards. In this case, I’m happy to have been caught unawares. Nicole’s Ten in Randolph New Jersey is most certainly a worthy destination.

Everything from the bar to the decor was all built out by Chef Chris Masey. There were a few of these candle holders on one wall of the dining room that really captured the aesthetic design throughout the place.

In the bar area, empty bottles of some of the finer craft beers available to us in the area fill up a wall display.

Nicole’s Ten does a great job of providing a vast variety within their twelve taps, in terms of both geography and style. Offerings from Anderson Valley, Sixpoint, Samuel Adams, and even New Jersey local Carton Brewing.

Allagash White seemed like a perfect fit for the afternoon, being both sessionable and food friendly.

To go along with a stellar beer selection, Nicole’s Ten offers a New American style cuisine, bringing you everything from tapas appetizers to all-out entrees. The Charcuterie is a great choice: sliced filet mignon, duck-apple brandy sausage, and wild boar Shiraz sausages alongside wedged brie, creamy Havarti, & smoked Gouda. The perfect companion for a few pints.

The crispy crab wontons were to die for – creamy crab and herbs stuffed inside wontons with a sweet-n-sour grained teriyaki.

Considering the quality of the appetizers, the entrees will be in our sights during our next visit. And visit again we shall – Nicole’s Ten deserves all the attention it can get. Between the interior design, the draft list, and the food selection, Chris has really taken things to another level here. Furthermore, he was happy to detail for us his exciting plans to expand the bar area in the near future, and he hopes to host some exciting craft brew events as well. Don’t let the humble exterior belie the experience waiting inside – this is one of the finest locations in Morris County for a beer and a bite.
